Well, it's been quite a while since I've done a "blog". Much has happened since. I transferred across the country for my job only to be let go a year after. Talk about loyalty. I gave that company 8 solid years. I was just about to hit 6 figures (due for my review) in income as well... And then bam! Thanks to Obama and his "Battalion of Goons" in Washington, the economy takes a dive, the country moves into a recession, my employer has another lawsuit and starts reorganizing...and they start with their satellite offices, starting at the top of the payscale. Which affected me.
But hey, shit happens right? To be honest, I had not been all that happy. My former company used to have a very high quality product. I can't say nowadays. I had often thought of getting into teaching. Perhaps this is the path God wants me to take. Who knows. I am trying to have faith.
I've been researching Education Schools. I've come across the Masters in Teaching being offered by University of Southern California. I have to say, among the other schools ( East Carolina, Univ. of Phoenix, Kaplan) that I have researched, the name, the prestige, keeps drawing me back to USC. I'd always wanted to be a Trojan. Way back in my high school days I convinced my high school football coach to contact USC and tell them he had a kid from Southeastern NC that wanted to play football for the Trojans. They didn't laugh...they requested a tape. My coach sent it... LOL... Perhaps if I had been 6'7 and 330 lbs they might have jumped all over me... but I wasn't quite big enough to be recruited cross country!
So, as I sit here tonight, getting ready to watch Monday Night Football, I was surfing on the Internet and found a blog about USC's Rossier School of Education MAT program. You can find it here: http://jarvilsnetwork.com/2010/07/usc-rossier-school-of-educations-matusc.html.
This may/may not be read by anyone but me... but as I move into 4 months of unemployment, perhaps it can be therapeutic at best!
